Garlic Butter Baked Steelhead Trout

Ingredients

  • 1 lb steelhead trout, deboned (or salmon)
  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, minced
  • 1 tbsp freshly grated lemon zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

  2. Place the steelhead trout fillet onto a baking pan lined with foil.

  3. Combine the salt, pepper, garlic, butter, and lemon zest in a small bowl. Mix thoroughly.

  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture onto the flesh side of the trout. Sprinkle with fresh parsley.

  5. Cover the trout with another sheet of aluminum foil, then crimp the edges together to form a pouch.

  6. Bake the trout for 15 minutes.

Recipe Notes

This recipe works on the grill too, just place the pan onto the grill instead of putting it in the oven. Cook the fish over medium heat.
